This is the website for the research project entitled: ‘Balancing religious freedoms, sexual orientation rights and trans gender identity protections in the provision of health and social care to older lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or trans people in the UK’.
The project is funded by the C and J B Morrell Trust, which also funds the Morell Centre for Toleration, and is supported by York Law School, University of York, UK. It aims to conduct a scoping study to understand the key issues in relation to how religious freedoms, sexual orientation and gender identity rights are navigated in older age care spaces.
The person leading the project is Dr Sue Westwood of York Law School, University of York. She is joined by project partners Opening Doors London, LGBT Foundation, SAND and Brighton and Hove Switchboard.
